A 35-year-old woman who will be addressed by her initials H.M narrated how she was taken advantage of by a man who posed to be her client that needed to have his clothes washed.
The man in question who was identified as Simon Muita allegedly locked her inside his house and raped H.M throughout the night before she managed to escape.
H.M was threatened by a knife that Simon Muita held at her throat as she was told by him that he had killed two other women prior and she would be the third woman to die from his hand if she wouldn’t comply.
The 35-year-old woman who also sells njugu/Ringo’s will never forget what happened to her on August 15, 2021, when Simon Muita posing as a customer ruined her life in the guise of saying that his wife was sick and thus they had a lot of laundries to do.
She went to Usikimye’s offices where she was assisted to get justice after she was denied service by the police who asked her for 5000 Shillings for her to get assisted.
Here is Usikimye’s narration in verbatim as narrated by the poor H.M:
“H.M. 35 years sells njugu/Ringo’s and washes clothes for a living. On August 15, a man posing as a customer took her to wash clothes under the guise that his wife was sick and they had a lot of laundries.
On arriving at the house, he locked her in and raped her the whole night while holding a knife on her throat. She had scratches, bruises, and swellings all over her body.
When H managed to escape, she found the people in the flat had been told she had robbed his phone and was marched back to the house and was continually raped.
She was told he had killed two women and she too would join them if she didn’t comply. The next day she was thrown out, he robbed her of her phone and the little cash she had.
The same day she came to our office where she was assisted to go to the hospital for post-rape care as well as reporting to the police. When H went to follow up on the arrest of the rapist, unfortunately, she was told to part with 5000/- which she didn’t have and nothing was done until she came back to our office and together with the police we went to his house and he was found and arrested.
Tomorrow we face her rapist in court. It has taken three months to get justice but tomorrow HM gets her day in court.
Tomorrow, Simon Muita the alleged rapist will be charged under the Sexual Offences Act 2006 act 3(I) and (l).
