Babu Owino, the incumbent Embakasi East Member of Parliament has been acquitted in the Court of Law.
The outspoken legislator has been acquitted in the attempted murder case against DJ Evolve after Court allowed the withdrawal of the case.
Babu Owino was seen shooting DJ Evolve in the neck at a point-blank range in 2018 which caused the deejay to be bedridden for months. Reportedly, Babu Owino has been paying for the medical bills and medicines for the deejay.
The case will now be prosecuted in the second count of behaving disorderly while carrying a firearm.
Apparently, it is DJ Evolve and his family who have withdrawn the attempted murder case against Babu Owino. The MP must have requested for the withdrawal in exchange for the medical funds he has been paying for the recuperating DJ.
Senior principal magistrate Bernard Ochoi heard that the only thing holding them back was documents that they had to present to the prosecution who confirmed that they’ve been having talks with Babu Owino’s legal team about the aforementioned matter.
This ruling has made Babu Owino, real name Paul Ongili Owino to trend together with DJ Evolve on Twitter with netizens reacting to the Court’s ruling.
Babu Owino can therefore not be charged with the attempted murder case since it has been dismissed by the court.
“I can say God is so great. There are a lot of things we agreed on medical and compensation of physical things. We agreed in the spirit of forgiveness. DJ Evolve’s family is my family and mine is his. DJ Evolve is my brother forever,” Babu Owino said after the Court’s ruling.
