Ida Odinga’s bodyguard Barack Onyango was shot dead near Raila’s home in Riat Hills, Kisumu.

Onyango was killed on Friday morning October 14, 2022, by unknown assailants.

David Masaga, Ida Odinga’s head of security, said the deceased was murdered at his rented house.

The assailants raided Onyango’s house around 4:00 am and shot him dead in cold blood.

The body remained at the scene of the crime for a while as detectives arrived to collect forensic evidence.

Barack Onyango was very close to Raila’s family having served as Ida’s bodyguard for many years.
