Akothee headlined half marathon at Ruma National Park while Diamond led full marathon in Mbeya.
The two musicians were the faces of the two separate races that were held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in their respective countries.
The half marathon held in Homa Bay was organized under the theme ‘running with roans’ at the Ruma National Park.
Roan antelopes are the main attraction at Ruma National Park in Homa Bay County.
While Akothee was the face of the marathon, several politicians including Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga, Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma and others took part in the half marathon.
Diamond Platnumz likewise headlined the 2023 Mbeya Tulia full marathon.
Mbeya is a city in southwest Tanzania.
Diamond and his Wasafi brigade descended on Mbeya to take part in the 42 kilometer race.
Celebrity politicians including rapper and Muheza constituency MP Mwana FA and Diamond’s manager-cum-Morogoro South East constituency MP Babu Tale took part in the race.
The race started Sokoine Stadium. Participants had to 42 kilometers around Mbeya before concluding at the same stadium.
