Mganga Hajigangi! 5 Strange Things About Kenya’s Richest Witchdoctor Annah Mutheu That Prove She Is A Smart Con Woman

Kenya’s celebrity witchdoctor Annah Mutheu is a multimillionaire thanks to the ‘magical charms’ she sells to unsuspecting clients.

Unlike other witchdoctors who live in ramshackle mud huts and are stuck in abject poverty, Mutheu is living life in the fast lane.

She stays in her palatial home in Tala, Kangundo, Machakos County, where a swimming pool and posh cars take pride of place.

In an interview with the Standard about two years ago, she estimated that she spent about Ksh40 million to put up her home.

The witchdoctor’s multimillion shilling storeyed house boasts a swimming pool, garage and other posh amenities.

The popular witchdoctor also has a fleet of cars and often jets in and out of the country like a corporate high-flier.

Mutheu estimated that she makes around Ksh1.8 million a month just from consultation fees alone. According to her estimates, she receives between 60 and 80 clients a day who pay Ksh1,000 consultation fee.

However, there are a handful of things that raise eyebrows about Mutheu’s witchcraft business.

Imposters

Mutheu offers witchcraft services to clients to fix all of their problems. However Mutheu can’t use her own witchcraft to ward off imposters.

The 42-Year-old witch instead of invoking her magical spell to punish imposters, she went to the police to report them.

In the report which was made on October 7th 2021, Mutheu claimed over 100 people have gone to her working place claiming her medicine did not work.

The wealthy Machakos witchdoctor reported the case at KBC police station in Tala Machakos county, accusing some people posing as clients to extort her of her hard earned wealth.

“There are several people who are conning Kenyans using my name and they want to work with me to continue with their business of conning Kenyans” Mutheu told the press.

She lamented that the said people have posted her video on YouTube and have given their contact details in the said video which Mutheu claims they don’t belong to her.

“Hundreds of Kenyans have been conned using my name by people who are mimicking my Kamba accent. I have reported the matter to the police.”

Threats

In another case of ‘mganga hajigangi’, Mutheu on August 23rd 2020 claimed her life was in danger after radio presenters claimed she had over Ksh30 million stored in her house.

The money she collects from her clients as consultation fee and selling her witchcraft (about Ksh100,000 a day) is kept in her house before she transfers it to the bank – because her clients visits her at her home.

The witchdoctor claimed she had received calls from a private number and unknown persons demanded that she hands over the money.

Mutheu the all powerful witchdoctor all over sudden feared for her life in 2020 yet clients go to her seeking magical charms to protect themselves.

She can’t even protect herself, how then does she protects her clients? See the irony.

Investment

Mutheu is a wise women, she knows eventually people will get tired of her tricks and she won’t make money from witchcraft anymore.

The 42-year-old witch has invested heavily to cushion herself in the event her witchcraft business crumbles.

She has invested in real estate and owns a petrol station, lorries and public service vehicles.

She is smart not to end up like the famous Tanzanian self-declared miracle healer Babu wa Loliondo who died in poverty despite making possibly billions selling non-flavored drink to unsuspecting clients who traveled far and wide for his famous concoction.

Church

Surprisingly, Mutheu says the Bible helps her a lot in healing her clients and that she never misses church on Sundays.

Mutheu is prayerful and regularly attends church on Sundays. Witchcraft and salvation are like water and oil, they don’t mix.

Crime

Sometimes in 2018, Mutheu was arrested after detectives raided her home and recovered 130 national identification cards.

She was apprehended for allegedly running a car theft syndicate but was later set free after the prosecution failed to produce evidence linking her to the theft.

There have been also been allegations that Mutheu pays actors to pretend they get stuck during sex then in a highly publicized charade she comes and separates them and gives out her contacts to couples seeking to nab their cheating spouses.
