Khadija Kopa, mother to Tanzania’s bongo sensation Zuchu, has addressed claims of her daughter dating Diamond Platnumz.

Recently, rumors spread on social media that Diamond and Zuchu were an item and would soon get married.

Further speculations arose when Diamond took Zuchu on a romantic dinner date during Christmas Day.

Khadija has however dispelled the claims and said that the two are like siblings hence there can be no romantic relationship between them.

Speaking in an interview with Mbengo TV, the Taarab singer said that she was shocked to hear that Zuchu was Diamond’s girlfriend.

“Diamond has always seen me like his mum even before my daughter joined Wasafi. I was shocked by the rumours I even had to ask my daughter and she said she was not dating him,” Khadija said.

She added that she is not aware if her daughter is currently dating as her focus is only on music.

“When she was going to Wasafi I took her there myself. Currently do not know if she is dating. She is a girl so if she gets a guy it’s not a bad thing provided he is a good man. For now, she wants to focus on her music,” Kopa added.

She also said that she sees no problem with Zuchu becoming a second wife like she sings in her hit Nyumba Ndogo because as Muslims they are used to it.

“We are Muslims and if she wants to get married as a second wife then I do not see a problem. As long her man is treating her well and does not beat her then I am good with it. Our men are used to marrying more than 1 wife, we are used to it,” she explained.
