Amber Ray gave birth to her son Gavin when she was just 18 years old after being impregnated by matatu makanga.
The mother of one rarely talks about the father of her son and questions about him receive rude answers.
However, the mother of one revealed in December 2021 post on Instagram that she had started co-parenting with her baby daddy who she had previously reveled that he is a Kikuyu man.
“The best thing about co-parenting ni ati unakuanga na (is that you always have) off days. Well, mine just started,” said Amber Ray.
Fast forward to April 2022, Amber Ray opened up about raising her son as a single parent. She stated that she is a caring and strict mother to her son despite all the social media drama.
“Being real. One thing I love about my son is that he is so understanding and so mature. One day I will bring him so that you guys can hear how he talks. He knows me, as much as I am Amber Ray, I am a mother 100%. I control everything as a mother until he turns 18. I am very strict when it comes to motherhood,” she said in a YouTube interview.
Amber Ray however regrets that her parents did not tell her about the negative side of life and that she is not repeating the same mistake with her son.
The petite socialite said she is raising her son better than what her parents did while raising her.
“We have a very good relationship, he knows everything about life. I wish my parents told me the bad side about life and people. I grew up knowing that everyone is good which has really cost me a lot but for him I always tell him the truth. I want him to grow up independently knowing how life is,” the mother of one said.
She further admitted that being a single mother is not easy but she is managing it.
