Life-threatening health conditions moved Karen Karimi Knaust closer to God as she underwent two major surgeries in three months.
The former K24 TV news anchor opened up about her health challenges in a recent post on social media.
Karen revealed that went under the knife two times in just three months.
The renowned journalist, who currently works in Kilifi County Government as the Director of Communications, actually did loparoscopy in September 2023. This was followed up by an open surgery in January 2024.
In the long post on Instagram, Karen Karimi expressed gratitude to be alive and also appreciated the doctors who took care of her and ensured her healing.
“If someone had foretold me that I would undergo two surgeries within the span of just three months, I would have laughed it off as a cruel joke. But here I am, my body and mind weathered by a whirlwind of pain and triumph.
“My journey began in September of last year with a laparoscopic surgery, followed by an open surgery this January. The love and support of my family and dear friends have made this odyssey bearable.
“My general surgeon and gynecologist have been nothing short of extraordinary, their expertise guiding me through the storm. To the entire team at Mombasa Hospital, thank you for your compassionate care.
“Remember to cherish yourself, cherish your body – it is resilient and deserving of your utmost care. Amidst life’s chaos, don’t forget to pause and recharge.
“My newfound sobriety and healthy diet have been my saving grace. I give gratitude to the higher power that has held my hand through it all, a reminder that no matter the challenge, we are never alone,” Karen Knaust narrated.
