Six police officers accused of killing the two Kianjokoma brothers were on Tuesday afternoon arraigned before the Milimani Law court with faces covered like criminals.
The six were taken to court in the wake of Kenyans calling for justice for the two Kianjokoma brothers who mysteriously died while in the hands of the police officers.
According to reports, Benson and Emmanuel were arrested by the police officers for allegedly flouting the laid down covid-19 containment measures.
The lifeless bodies of the two, Emmanuel Mutura Ndwiga, 19, and Benson Njiru Ndwiga, 22, were found lying at the Embu mortuary after they went missing since Sunday last week.
Prior to their death, sources reveal that officers from Manyatta Police Station arrested the two brothers last Sunday while selling pork at the Kianjokoma trading centre.
As a result, the mother accompanied by the locals on Wednesday stormed the Manyatta police station in a bid to demand answers for the mysterious deaths of Emmanuel Mutura Ndwiga and Benson Njiru Ndwiga.
However, he attempts to compel the police officers from Manyatta Station to shed more light on the issue were futile as they were economical to give explanations.
During the burial which was also attended by various leaders from the region, each speaker who took to the podium demanded justice to be served for the slain Kianjokoma brothers and their families.
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua accused the Interior of not doing enough to maintain the country’s security. He further claimed that the culprits are known by the ministry and they should be brought to books.
“The perpetrator of this offense is well known to everyone, but I wonder why he is still at large. We have to say the truth, we are tired of such deaths,” the MP said.
The two brothers were buried in one grave at their home in Kithangari Kianjokoma, Embu North.
