Six people died on Wednesday evening after the North Rift Shuttle was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry near Nakuru.

The unfortunate incident which happened near Greensteds was confirmed by Nakuru police boss county commander Beatrice Kiraguri.

According to eyewitnesses on the ground, the lorry driver lost control before ramming onto the North Rift Shuttle.

Besides, attempts by the matatu driver to escape the lorry were futile as their vehicle was cornered at the extreme edge of the bridge where it could no longer move.
