Akothee has detailed the root cause of the bad blood between her and her sister Cebbie Koks as well as some of her other relatives.
Speaking during a show at NRG radio, Akothee said that their wrangles were caused by jealous after she became successful and her decision to embark on a musical career.
According to her, her family considered music as portraying the family in a bad picture. Her other relatives also hate her because of what they have been told about her.
“A a celebrity, when you trend negatively, nobody wants to be associated with you. Even family only come to you when they want a favour. They will never defend,” Akothee told her co-hosts Mejja, MC Jessy and Betty Kyallo.
Akothee further said that beginning to plan her wedding in September last year further added salt to the injury.
“In all these things, my mother is hurt the most since my father is not well mentally. I got pregnant and decided to mend things with my sister. I bought clothes for my children to attend her wedding. But things came up and I decided I would not attend her wedding.
“One of my uncle called me. They sent me a very long message saying I had intentions of destroying my sister’s wedding. I was very surprised how I was doing that. People took sides and before everything was cooling down, I lost my pregnancy on the 17th of December 2023. I was told I was chasing clout,” she said.
She noted that her sister is ungrateful even though she educated her from class 7.
“Tell me what did I do wrong that now I deserve to ask for forgiveness from my family. I have not been told what wrong I did to her. The reason my brothers did not attend my wedding is that they took sides,” she said.
