Tanasha Announces Decision To Leave Kenya Amid Crisis After Crisis Since Ruto Took Over

Tanasha Donna, who has dual nationality, is leaving Kenya for good with her family.

The Kenyan Italian beauty is frustrated by the state of affairs in Kenya and as such she wants to pack her baggage and leave for good.

“I ain’t gonna lie this country is a total mess. I’m tryna take my family and baggage and leave for good,” Tanasha wrote in part.

The cost of living shot up since William Ruto took over from retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto on assumption of office removed fuel and maize flour subsidies which had kept the cost of living a bit low.

Fuel prices increased exponentially after Ruto took over, making the cost of living go up as well.

In April this year, Civil servants were warned to brace themselves for more salary delays amid a worsening economic situation in Kenya.

National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndung’u warned of tough times ahead, saying, the government was in a “financial fix” with nowhere to get more funds.

For the first time in the history of Kenya the government failed to pay Members of Parliament (MPs) and civil servants as the administration faces an unprecedented cash-flow crisis that resulted in delays in the payments.

“For the first time since independence in 1963, the government of Kenya is unable to pay salaries to civil servants and members of parliament Nearly all civil servants don’t when or if they will ever be paid. The situation has been degenerating progressively since December last year,” National Assembly Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi said in a statement on April 7, 2023.

“We believe a lot of our cash flow problems have got to do with the corruption, tribalism, nepotism, incompetence and plain theft at critical revenue collection points, starting with the KRA, in addition to wrong spending priorities,” Wandayi added.

Normally, MPs receive their salaries by the end month between the 26th and 30th.

The government claim that it is in a “financial fix” comes even as Treasury in March 2023 allocated William Ruto, Rigathi Gachagua and Musalia Mudavadi Ksh802 million to buy new cars.

On February 25, the Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary was launched in an event that was graced by the private sector, international organizations, representatives from embassies, and government officials among other leaders.

The launch elicited mixed reactions with netizens on social media questioning whether the taxpayers will fund it given the harsh economic times.
