Samuel Muchoki, widely known as Samidoh, a prominent Mugithi musician, recently found himself in a public spat with a fan over a social media post.
The controversy erupted after Samidoh shared a photo on Facebook, depicting himself inside a luxury car with a laptop.
The photo was captioned with a light-hearted reminiscence of his high school days: “Pale highschool hakuna kitu ilikuwa inanichanganya kama ” what is the mood of the poem”😂😆. Kuna siku niliandika ” The poem has a sombre mood”😆😅🤗
The post quickly drew attention, with one fan, Peter Njoroge, alleging that the car Samidoh was pictured in belonged to his baby mama, Karen Nyamu, a nominated senator.
Njoroge suggested that the car was being fueled with taxpayers’ money, writing, “Aki Samidoh, hii gari ni ya senator mke wako. Hii ni mafuta yetu. (Surely Samidoh, this is your senator wife’s car. It uses our fuel).”
Samidoh, known for his straightforward demeanor, did not let the accusation slide.
In a swift and pointed rebuttal, he responded, “heheh Na inakuuma juu ile kitu wako ako nayo tu ni pantie liner.”
The statement, which roughly translates to “It is paining you because the only thing your lover has is panty liner,” underscored his unwillingness to tolerate the fan’s insinuation.
The exchange highlights the challenges public figures often face regarding their private lives and the scrutiny they endure from the public.
For Samidoh, this incident is another episode in his ongoing navigation of fame and personal relationships under the watchful eyes of his fans and critics alike.
