The family of renowned Kenyan actor Charles Ouda, affectionately known as ‘Charlie,’ has revealed his untimely demise at the age of 38.

The devastating news was shared through a joint statement from the family and Charlie’s fiancee, former BBC journalist Ciru Muriuki, urging the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.

The joint statement, released on February 4, disclosed that Charlie passed away on the night of February 3, 2024.

“Dear friends and family, it is with great sadness that we share the passing of Charles ‘Charlie’ J. Ouda on the night of February 3, 2024,” the statement read.

“We appeal to all to give his fiancée Ciru, and the Oudas space to grieve this unfathomable loss. More details will be given in due course.”

Charlie, cherished as a son, brother, and friend, left an indelible mark in the entertainment industry. His notable contributions included roles in popular TV shows like Know Zone, Makutano Junction, Changing Times, Count it Out, Salem and The First Grader.

Beyond acting, Charlie showcased his versatility as a gifted scriptwriter, show host, event manager, and voice-over artist.
