MP Peter Salasya Sparks Controversy with Declaration to Marry Multiple Wives

Peter Salasya

Controversial Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has stirred up a social media storm with his recent declaration of intent to take multiple wives, asserting his financial capability to support them.

In a candid post on his Instagram page, Salasya sparked a flurry of reactions among netizens by revealing his contemplation of marrying more than two women. The trigger for this consideration, he humorously suggested, was the severity of the current cold weather.

“This cold is starting to force me to start thinking about getting one woman this year and another next year,” Salasya candidly disclosed.

Known for his outspoken nature and penchant for stirring controversy online, Salasya didn’t shy away from expressing his conviction that he possesses the means to provide for multiple spouses.

“I have to marry more than two wives, the money to protect them is less than to maintain,” the MP confidently asserted, leaving little doubt about his intentions.

Salasya’s proclamation comes in the wake of former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya’s public unveiling of his third wife, Mary Biketi, signaling his acceptance of polygamous relationships. Additionally, Kakamega Senator Bony Khalwale has previously acknowledged his marital status, openly admitting to having multiple wives.

Salasya’s unapologetic stance on polygamy adds to the ongoing discourse surrounding traditional marital practices and societal norms, further fueling conversations about the dynamics of relationships in contemporary Kenyan society.
