Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has made an humble appeal to Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna and his Busia counterpart Okiya Omtatah as DP Rigathi Gachagua prepares to appear before the senate after he was impeached by the National Assembly.
In a heartfelt message, Salasya told the two leaders that voting against Gachagua’s impeachment would save their political ambitions.
“To my two brothers I know you didn’t tell me to vote No to impeachment motion , but went in history as the only young leader in western who voted NO because I had good reasons beyond money.I want to remind you my brother Edwin W. Sifuna you have options to choose yes to impress the ODM party or No to save your long political ambition.
“Don’t loose this seven constituencies in Nairobi you need them again and kenyans in general who sees no reason to impeachment of Gachagua. Remember your the only leader who was elected with the largest number of votes in the country,” he advised.
For Omatatah, the lawmaker noted that the senator is loved and trusted by Kenyans in general. He advised him that Kenyans wanted both Gachagua and his boss William Ruto to leave the country’s leadership and not just one of them.
“You are a trusted leader in senate vote No and you will see .Money will come and go but trust wins across the board,” he said.
Gachagua will have 5 hours in the senate next week to defend himself against the allegations that saw him get impeached.
