“We Are Focusing On the Wrong Things”Bien Speaks On The Protests Against LGBTQ

Sauti sol band member Bien Aime-Barazza says that he fully supports the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community.

In an online interview with TV47, the Inauma hitmaker said that he supports people to do what they want.

According to him, the country is focusing on the LGBTQ matter which is not a real issue that is affecting Kenyans.

“I fully support LGBTQ. I support people to do what they want. The biggest problems in Kenya are hunger, economic empowerment, proper education in schools. There are so many problems that come before LGBTQ issue but I think the government is in this issue to remove you attention from the things that actually matter,” Bien said.

He added that, “LGBTQ is not a bigger problem than corruption in that country. Please focus on the issues…LGBTQ is not anyone’s problem. Whatever someone does in their bedroom is not a problem.”

The artist noted that eradicating the community will not solve the serious issues that the country is facing.

“Do you want to tell me that if LGBTQ community is dealt with there will be no hunger and corruption. There are extra-judicial killings,  Youths get arrested while protesting peacefully. There are so many things that are going wrong but we are focusing on the wrong things,” Bien said.

He advised that the energy that is being used to fight the queer community should be directed to more important things like healthcare.

“Please guys, the energy you are bringing on LGBTQ take it to other things that make sense like healthcare. Right now in Kenya when someone gets cancer, they die, your family goes broke while you watch. Why is health not Universal in that country. Lets stop killing those people and check ourselves,” Bien said.
