“Village Witches At Work” Kenyan Athlete Loses Race After Being Interrupted By A Dog

“The dog was heavenly sent to make him increase the speed,” a Facebook user reacted to the incident.

A Kenyan athlete missed out of the first position after being interrupted by a dog.

Robert Kimutai Ngeno was among other Marathoners that were racing in the Buenos Aires Marathon in Argentina last Sunday.

The 29-year old was leading the race at 21km before encountering the unexpected turn of events.

A stray dog reportedly emerged from nowhere and began pursuing him. This saw him lose focus on the race as he had to mind about his safety first.

It took the efforts of onlookers to chase away the dog.

Ngeno however performed impressively as he settled for the third position.

Cornelius Kibet Kiplagat finished first after racing for 2:08.29 while Paul Kipngetich Tanui came second with 2:09.57.

Had he won the race, the Kenyan athlete would have taken home a cash prize of Kshs1.1 million.

Here are some other reactions from Ngeno’s case;

Ekai Waziri: Watu wa Kijiji wakiamua huwezi faulu wanakfwata mpaka majuu.

Elijah Nyarangi: The dog came as motivation, the challenge was to be taken positively and continue running the race.

Vitor Keter: The owner of the dog should pay for that interruption.

Zippy Lily: Kwani hii uwanja haina mawe

Alfonse: Huyo doggy si aliact kama pace maker. Hapo angefungulia Turbo.

Dicky Mbura: Village witches at work
