“Sikulipwa” Mbagala Video Vixen Fingers Diamond Platnumz 10 Years Later

Over a decade ago, Diamond Platnumz’s hit song “Mbagala” took the music scene by storm, amassing over 17 million views on YouTube.

The music video featured a stunning video vixen Naima Shah who played the role of a bride, navigating the emotions of love and family.

Her storyline intertwined with that of Diamond’s brother, Romy Jons, creating a poignant representation of love that resonated with audiences.

Recently, Naima Shah opened up about the unexpected fallout she faced in the wake of the video’s success during an interview with Lokoma TV.

At just 18 years old, Naima was newly married and had recently given birth when she took on the role, a decision that would lead to significant tensions with her family.

Reflecting on her choice, she admitted, “I informed my husband that I would become a vixen for him,” indicating that the decision was made without the backing of her loved ones.

The video’s release became a shocking revelation to her family, who were unaware of her involvement until it went viral.

Describing the backlash, Naima Shah noted, “My religion prohibits being a video vixen, and the reaction from my husband and father was severe.”

The consequences were harsh; she recounted her husband’s extreme anger, saying, “I experienced severe repercussions. He beat me, and then my father did as well.”

In a striking reminder of the challenges she faced, Naima Shah shared that she has not seen any financial compensation for her participation in the project.

“He was a friend,” she explained, regretfully recalling, “I didn’t get paid. We did it as a favor, and I thought it would be a fun experience.”

As “Mbagala” continues to be celebrated for its artistic impact, Naima Shah’s story highlights the often-overlooked complexities and personal costs that can accompany fame in the entertainment industry.

With Diamond Platnumz’s channel boasting a staggering 9.29 million subscribers, the legacy of this song remains significant, revealing both the triumphs and trials that come with success.
