The entire Kenyatta family usually shy away from limelight, the president’s children are not even on social media and if they are they are using pseudonyms.

President Uhuru himself deactivated his official Twitter account in on March 22nd 2019, he was the most followed African leader with 3.62 million followers at the time he deleted his account.

On November 25th 2020 while drumming up support for BBI, Uhuru said that he quit Twitter because of trolls.

The president explained that he found himself pre-occupied with negative comments on his Twitter posts, spending an awful amount of time trying to understand why KOT were always harsh.

“You keep reading what they are saying. Then you call people to complain about the negative comments. Afadhali nilale,” said President Uhuru.
