News Anchor Catherine Kasavuli Loses Battle With Cancer 

Veteran news anchor Catherine Kasavuli has died aged 60 after a battle with chronic disease cancer.

Kasavuli died on Thursday night December 29, 2022, at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where she was admitted.

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) acting Managing Director Samuel Maina confirmed Kasavuli’s death.

Kasavuli was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after being diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Her admission was made public in November 7, 2022, when several celebrities took to social media to ask Kenyans to urgently donate blood to the veteran journalist.

Kasavuli is one of the most celebrated TV personalities in Kenya, boasting a career spanning over 30 years.

She work at KTN for the better part of her media career before she announced her retirement on July 4, 2013.

After retiring from anchoring news, Kasavuli retreated into corporate affairs and eventually went off the limelight.

After eight years in the cold, Kasavuli made a comeback on the screens in June 2021 thanks to a new deal she has signed with KBC to anchor weekend news.

Kasavuli become a beneficiary of KBC’s 2021 rebrand which created bulletins that gave a chance to legendary anchors to ply their trade.
