Museveni Explains Why He Can't Fire His Son Muhoozi Despite His Erratic Behaviour

President Yoweri Museveni insists his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba is a good soldier even though he his actions on Twitter continue to cause an outcry.

The Ugandan president showered his son with praise while speaking during an interview with KTN’s Sophia Wanuna.

“If it was the other generals would they have received the same treatment?” Sophia asked Museveni.

The 78-year-old leader explained that Muhoozi was a good military leader that’s why he couldn’t fire him in spite of his behaviour on social media.

“That general you are talking about Muhoozi is a very good officer in army things. Army has got all sorts of problems, there is corruption. Many of the armies are killed by corruption. Stealing resources of the army, poor training and so on. So if somebody is good in something but makes a mistake in something else how do you handle it? From our long experience, not only for Muhoozi, for many many of them we try…. because we might not get people 100 per cent correct. So if he has gotten 10 per cent mistake, 20 per cent mistake but 80 per cent contribution…. this is how you manage it,” Museveni said.

Muhoozi on October 4, 2022, went on a Twitter meltdown, warning that could capture Kenya’s capital in just two weeks.

His tweets sparked a diplomatic tiff between Kenya and Uganda which was resolved quickly.
