Comedian Eric Omondi took his protests on the high cost of living to Nairobi’s CBD.

The comedian stood at a raised point and aired his grievances through a loud speaker.

He had a rope around his neck saying that he will kill himself if the police try to arrest him and could also be heard singing Juliani’s song ‘Utawala’.

He further said that if he commits suicide, President William Ruto will lower the cost of living.

“Mimi leo sitoki hapa. Na mimi leo nitakufa hapa. Mimi nitajinyonga hapa.

The police however arrived at the scene, forced him to come down before taking him to custody.

Running battles were also witnessed briefly as the police were forced to use teargas to disperse a crown that had formed.
