Sunshine hitmaker Habida has lately been under fire after she claimed that Arbantone artist have not produced music hits.
According to her, the artists are focused on remixing songs and that denies them opportunities to land gigs and shows.
“They do other people’s songs, they focus on doing their own version of the song. Arbantone artists have not produced hits, they have just produced remixes of hit songs. They are controlling the web but they are not getting shows. To get a show do an original song,” Habida in an interview with a local media.
The remarks saw Arbantone artists, fans of the music genre and even other musicians condemn her. Others demanded that she apologizes.
Following the backlash, Habida released a statement saying that some specific individuals are trying to portray her as a hater of the new generation music.
“Over the last 2 days, it has come to my attention that my brand has been put under cyber bullying attack following a recent online interview done in regards of the new arbantone sound.
“I strongly condemn sentiments from some specific individuals through social media that were made to picture and portray me as a hater and non-supportive to the new generation and sound
Habida said that she supports young and new talent, further revealing that her brand is working closely with some of the talents to ensure that the goals of making Kenyan music great are achieved.
She also thanked fans for the support they have been showing her.
“I encourage any young artist to continue displaying their talent through any channel available and encourage all Kenyan fans to show support as we work togetherto nature a young generation of artists and mind-blowing talent,” she concluded
