Forest Road ugly incident terrified the victim and for a moment she thought she would be lynched by boda boda operators who attacked her.
Police said shocking incident happened on Friday March 4th 2022 but the clip which caught the attention of the nation went viral on Monday March 7th.
The extremely disturbing one-minute footage shows an angry mob of boda boda riders descending upon a terrified female driver, who can be heard helplessly screaming for help.
The Forest Road victim is not identified for legal reasons in a police report filed on Friday at the Parklands Police Station after the incident.
In her report to police, the victim said she was involved in a road accident on Wangari Maathai Road at 5pm on Friday, but the matter did not come to the limelight until a short clip started circulating on social media on Monday.
The victim, who is an employee of a United Nations agency, said a boda boda rider blocked her vehicle abruptly forcing her to crash into it and leaving the rider with a broken leg.
She stopped a few metres from the scene of the accident but was mobbed by a group of riders some of whom tried to rob her.

Mobbed by the rowdy boda boda riders, the victim was forced her to drive away for her safety but stopped a few metres away as riders chased after her and blocked her car.
The irate mob opened her car door, with some of them robbing her of her personal effects.
All she could do was scream for help, some riders ripped apart her dress as they tried to pull her out of the vehicle. She had buckled up and this is what prevent the mob from getting her out of the vehicle.
One of the riders, all this while, was recording her ordeal. Half-naked, she was later rescued by a traffic police officer who was alerted by other motorists.
What a shame!🙄
The act that was done to the innocent lady by the boda boda guys is just pathetic and is unacceptable #forestroad #nduthi #BreakTheBias pic.twitter.com/YMdJ8NuBEj— Lucas Bob Mwicigi (@LucasRo22581403) March 7, 2022

The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the mastermind, identified as Zacharia Nyaora Obadia, was unmasked through digital forensics at the modern lab.

narrowed down on the suspect identified as Zachariah Nyaora Obadia.
“Using digital forensics, the sleuths working with cybercrime experts at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory, placed the thug at the scene of the crime scientifically and went after him this afternoon deep in Mukuru Kaiyaba informal settlement.
“However, the suspect who is aware of the ongoing crackdown on errant boda boda riders escaped our dragnet by a whisker, via a sewer duct in the densely populated settlement,” DCI tweeted.

The ugly incident caught the attention of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who ordered a crackdown on all boda boda operators in Nairobi and across the country.
Uhuru also ordered all boda boda riders to be registered afresh as he cautioned leaders against politicizing the issue.
“I want to refer to the video circulating. It was disheartening and it was only one of these incidents shown. I have ordered a crackdown on all boda boda operators starting here in Nairobi and moving across the country,” he said.
“I know we are in the busy season of politics, and some will say the government is harassing small business owners. There is no such thing,” Uhuru said while speaking at the International Women’s Day celebrations at the Kenya School of Government in Kabete.
