“Politicians can fund-raise to build a mall, but can’t do the same to feed their people?” Nasra asks.
North Eastern Kenyan leaders have come under fire from comedian Nasra Yusuf for presumably failing to assist villagers who are suffering from famine.
The region is one of the counties in Kenya, that has suffered from the ongoing severe drought stretch that has affected many citizens countrywide.
More than 2.6 million animal deaths have been reported, according to the National Drought Management Authority’s most recent data. According to estimates, the current cost of the livestock death’s is close to Sh 226 billion.
Nasra said they’ve been able to gather more than Sh 600,000 in less than a week and provided food for the community, but the politicians in the region are unable to do the same but are able to raise money to construct a mall.
“So Northeastern leaders can do a 50 Million plus fundraisers to build a MALL but can’t do the same to FEED their people??😳in less than a week,I have used my platform and I have raised over 600k and FED the people!retweet this until they see it and go back to their dying people,” she says.
