A Man tied himself to the gates of DP Ruto’s office

A man who has been identified as Lawrence Oprong has made headlines after he made the bold move of tying himself up to the gates leading to Deputy President William Ruto’s office after DP Ruto allegedly reneged on a promise he made to him.

Deputy President William Ruto had earlier on made a promise to one Mr. Lawrence Oprong said that Ruto had promised him a job but he’s yet to get a call about the job that he was promised and it’s been months since he made that promise.

The son of former Busia North Member of Parliament Oduya Oprong decided to tie himself to the gates leading to Ruto’s office because he didn’t follow through to his pledge.

Lawrence Oprong chained himself to the gate of DP Ruto’s offices on Tuesday, 11 January 2022.

Lawrence Oprong was arrested by police officers who whisked him away to the Central police station in Nairobi.

Ruto’s spokesperson Emmanuel Talam said the issue has been handled by the Deputy President’s office.

“DP has sorted the issue and asked his office to handle the young man’s case,” Talam said.
