Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP) Phelix Odiwour aka Jalang’o expressed regret over the death of late TikToker Brian Chira.
Jalang’o was at RahaFest on Saturday, March 30 where he was asked his opinion about Chira’s cry for help regarding the various problems he was facing.
The MP said that he was deeply hurt he couldn’t help Brian Chira as he only saw the video of the TikToker reaching out to him for help after his death.
“It hurts me a lot that after Chira’s death, I saw a video saying that Jalango I need your help. I need you to help me. I saw after his death, other people tagged me. How I wish I had seen it,” he told Plug TV.
“I would have sat down and asked him what he wanted. It hurts me so much that I saw that video so much later,” Jalang’o added.
The politician paid his last respects to the late TikToker.
“May God rest his soul in eternal peace,” Jalang’o lamented, calling on Kenyan designers to ensure their names live on longer.
“Today you are a top artist, tomorrow you are someone else.”
Jalang’o praised the TikTok community for contributing significantly to Chira’s funeral expenses.
“There are funerals of big people today where they are struggling to get even one million. But TikTok people raised Ksh8 million. They are not a group you can ignore.”
“If the death of Brian Chira never taught you anything, then you cannot be taught. The death of Brian Chira is a very big lesson. Many will love you if you are not there, and when you cry in the desert and call for water, many will not give you water. When you die, they will bring you a well. Even the sea,” he said.
