“It Wasn’t Cancer” Akothee On Why She Was Forced To Go Bald Previously

Akothee has come out to explain why she previously was forced to shave her hair.

The mother of five, who is currently mourning the loss of her brother-in-law, said that many associated her shaving with cancer.

At the time Akothee wasn’t doing well and even felt that her hair was a burden forcing her to go bald.

“This was one of my lowest points, a time when I truly hit rock bottom. I felt as though my hair had become a burden—it was too heavy and consumed too much of my time. I didn’t have the energy to go to a salon, nor did I want anyone to touch my body. The mere thought of leaving my house every two weeks to visit the hairdresser became overwhelming,” she explained.

“So, I started to disconnect from anything that would require interaction with other people. This detachment is known as * ISOLATION*, and it’s often the final stage of depression before a critical decision is made,” she said.

Through sharing her story, Akothee hints that her brother-in-law might have died because of depression.

“R.I.P. Omejo I feel you osiepna, pole. Erokamano kuom Wenwa nyithindo,” she concluded her social media post.

In an earlier post, Akothee said that she would judge the deceased for the decision of ending his journey.

“Dear Brother-in-law, Mr. David Odhiambo Maduma, I don’t have the energy to judge you based on the decision you made to end this journey. I might want to ask why you didn’t reach out to me or even to your nieces, but perhaps you thought everyone was caught up in their own struggles.

“But now, allow me to ask—what about your wife and children? Omuga and the rest? David, did you not think of your mother, who just became a widow a year ago? Why were you so selfish, Odebi? You have broken my children’s hearts,” the pained singer wrote.

She admitted to have been in the situation thrice but because of her children, she stood strong, living to fight another day.

“But then, my children’s spirits wouldn’t allow me to take such a bold step. David, you were brave to do this to us, ja SDA You know you were your mothers favorite. I’m terrified for our sickly mother-in-law.

“I’m truly sorry, Odebi. Forgive us for not being there for you, but honestly, we are all fucked up with this life now, we are all having our heads out of the water just to avoid suffocating,” the distraught singer wrote.
