Police have recovered body of an elderly man from a guesthouse in Kapsoit area of Belgut, Kericho County.
The 60-year-old man said to be an elder of a local church checked into the lodging with a young woman on Wednesday evening.
However, the man never made it out of the guesthouse alive, his lifeless body was discovered the same Wednesday night in one of the guest rooms.
The woman who was with the man took the initiative to report the shocking incident to the guestroom management before disappearing and cannot be located.
Confirming the incident, the head of police in Belgut sub-county, Mr Charles Kibati, stated that the body of the deceased showed no visible injuries.
However, a used condom was found beside the body.
The body of the church elder was taken to the morgue at the Kericho County Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination, as the police continued their search for the lady who accompanied him to assist with investigations.
