Controversial lawmaker Aisha Jumwa has vehemently refuted claims that she left her fisherman ex husband after she secured a well paying job.
Speaking during an interview on NTV, Jumwa said that it was so unfortunate that most Kenyans often judge people wrongly.
The Malindi MP explained that the main reason why her fisherman ex husband and her parted ways was because he didn’t approve of her decision to join politics.
“It’s so wrong for most people to think like this. I don’t understand, I didn’t have a job and he had one but the main reason why I left him is because after I got into politics, he told me that he couldn’t stay with a woman who is into politics and for this reason, he gave me an option to choose between him or my career, you know what I chose”, Aisha Jumwa said.
The firebrand Malindi MP further reiterated that she still doesn’t have a husband and that she is not answerable to any man.
Aisha Jumwa also spoke on reports that deputy president William Ruto gifted her a luxurious mansion to coerce her to support his presidential ambition.
She cleared the air regarding the matter noting that the second in command did not gift her the said mansion.
The vocal Malindi MP however made it clear that she owns a number of high-end mansions that she built and some acquired using her hard-earned money.
“Why would Ruto buy me a house yet I have been with Ruto for like four years now? I have a number of luxurious houses that I did not get from either supporting ODM or William Ruto. The ones I have are from my hard-earned proceeds and even some I acquired loans that I’m currently still repaying them,” Jumwa noted.
