Bernice Saroni, a US-based promoter and a close friend of Edday Nderitu, left Kenya for US in 2018.
She left the country after undergoing an ugly separation from the father of four children.
While recounting the moment, in response to a question from one of her fans, Bernice said that she moved to States for her own peace of mind.
“When I decided that I was going to relocate to the US after the separation with the father of my children, I wanted peace, and at that point, I just wanted to exit. Staying in Kenya is not easy with four children, and I didn’t want the back and forth with child support. The divorce was so messy I just wanted peace of mind,” she opened up in a TikTok video.
She added that she didn’t leave the country with her children during the first time. Her children followed her to the US 8 months later alongside with their nanny.
“I got a house. I got a car. It took me eight months. I applied for an employee visa for my nanny, and she brought my kids, and she helped take care of the kids,” the mother of four further said.
According to her, had it not been for her family’s support, she would not be existing.
“If it was not for my family support and Love I’ll be dead and forgotten, divorce is very dirty and messy,” Saroni said.
She also encouraged her followers that, should they be forced to undergo through separation, they should not lose themselves.
“Divorce is very messy and nobody is ever prepared for it. Divorce has put a lot of women into the early grave, depression, suicide, live with anxiety, take medication. When that time comes, because we are never prepared for bad days , just know that this is like a grave but don’t lose yourself in the process.
“Remember there was Bernice before this man, there was Bernice before this children. Choose yourself so that you will be able to take care of your children. Accept, ikikataa imekataa, ukiachwa achika,” she said.
