Jalang’o said Caroline Khadija Mustafa saved him from poverty when she brought to Nairobi.
The Lang’ata MP recalled how he was brought up in abject poverty in Homa Bay county while speaking during an interview on Kameme FM.
Jalang’o credited his first girlfriend Caroline Khadija Mustafa for introducing him to the city where he hustled and finally had his breakthrough in life.
“Caroline Khadija Mustafa was my first girlfriend… She was Nyabisawa girls. I love you babe; you brought me to Nairobi for the first time,” Jalang’o expressed gratefully.
In Nairobi, Jalang’o navigated through different neighborhoods, drawn to the allure of Westlands and the company of like-minded individuals.
In Nairobi, Jalang’o got an opportunity in the theatre where he grew his acting career.
He secured acting role on Papa Shirandula TV show which propelled him to greater heights.
Jalang’o big break came when he joined Kiss FM for the first time in 2004 where he began his career as a radio presenter.
He worked alongside veteran media personality Caroline Mutoko at Kiss FM.
Jalang’o later transitioned to Radio Maisha in 2012, after which he later moved on to Hot 96 FM in 2017. In 2018 he moved to Radio Milele.
In July 2020, Jalang’o went back to where he began his radio career as a morning presenter at Kiss 100 where he was a co-host to Kamene Goro.
Jalang’o quit Kiss FM in February 2022 to focus on political campaign as he contested for Lang’ata parliamentary seat in the August 9, 2022 general election.
He won the Lang’ata seat on ODM ticket.
