Flair By Betty, a beauty enterprise owned by renown media personality Betty Kyallo will be auctioned on April 17, 2024.
This is because of rent arrears that have hit the establishment. The auctioning is set to be undertaken at Leakey’s storage Limited along Lunga Lunga Road, Nairobi.
Items that will be auctioned include 12 barber seats, 3 seats attached with sinks, 9 CCTV cameras, Huawei router, one door fridge, wall shelves, massage bed stand, small serve rack and towels warmers.
Also in the list is a glass shelf, dressing table, coffee maker, Hiluck video recorder, Foot massage, small rolling seats, office table, 4 big mirrors among others.
Betty has however broken silence on the matter, admitting that her landlord refused to reduce her rent.
“Obviously running a business in Kenya has become so difficult. Landlords don’t want to reduce rent and it has become a huge burden on businesses that are struggling because of the economic slowdown.
“I let it go. I am happier. I sleep better. My peace of mind is more important than a name. I’m good,” she stated, and further announced that her Barber Shop was finally re-opening after two months of renovations and expansion.
She also said that her Salon will be back and it’s only a matter of time.
Thanks for the calls and texts but Mimi Niko Sawa. Many Kenyans are going through the most in business. Many people have closed businesses in this country. I let it go… but Flair will be back. Just a matter of time. Also …. today we reopen @aftershavebyflair Upperhill, La Baita. We have expanded, we are bigger. Gentlemen Come for a haircut,” she said.
