For the first time, Shakib Cham Lutaaya, the husband to Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan, has opened up about his early life and educational background.
Shakib recently launched a YouTube channel titled ‘Shakib and Zari’ where he shares personal stories and insights into his life.
In the latest episode, Shakib delved into his upbringing and the challenges he faced academically.
Growing up in Kawempe, a slum on the outskirts of Kampala, Shakib’s journey was far from easy.
He attended several schools in Kawempe and Gayaza, although he chose not to name them explicitly.
“I grew up in Kawempe and when I reached puberty, I left and went somewhere else,” Shakib shared.
“I visited some schools that I would not like to mention by name. I have my own reasons for that, but some of them are in Kawempe, and some are in Gayaza.”
Despite his efforts, Shakib’s academic journey was cut short, and he did not complete university education.
However, he emphasized that his lack of higher education does not define his capabilities or potential.
“I couldn’t finish university; to be honest, I couldn’t go very far academically, but I got to a point where I can say that if I wanted to enter politics and run for a parliamentary position, I can,” Shakib explained.
While he made it clear that he has no intentions of pursuing a political career, his statement highlights his confidence in his knowledge and life experiences.
Shakib also touched on his limited engagement with the political landscape, mentioning that the only politician he knows is Bobi Wine.
He admitted to being unaware of the current member of parliament for his constituency, further illustrating his disconnection from formal political circles.
Through his YouTube channel, Shakib aims to provide fans with a deeper understanding of his life and journey, while also showcasing a gallery of photos and videos.
His candid revelations offer a glimpse into the challenges and triumphs that have shaped him into the person he is today.
