Racheal Wanja, who gained some notoriety in the press after eloping with Saumu Mbuvi’s baby daddy, has addressed her family’s trouble with the law.
Wanja, the daughter of former Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria, has reached out to her online followers to reassure them about her family’s well-being following her mother’s arrest on April 17, 2024.
In a message on Instagram, Racheal expressed gratitude for the concern shown by her fans during the family’s trending period. She confirmed that her family members are all doing well.
“I’m good-My whole family is. Thank you for reaching out. I may not have responded to your messages but I appreciate them all. Its such moments that we know who our true friends are and for that, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. Asanteni,” she wrote.
Wa Iria’s wife Jane Waigwe Kimani was arrested on April 17th before being arraigned in court together her brother Solomon Mutura Kimani.
The two faced charges related to an alleged Ksh140 million graft case in the Murang’a County government.
While Jane Waigwe Kimani and her brother were taken into custody, the whereabouts of the former county governor Wa Iria remained unknown amid reports suggesting he had evaded arrest.
A dramatic turn of events occurred when a helicopter hired by Wa Iria landed at Mumbi Grounds in Murang’a County to collect court orders.
Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru boarded the running helicopter to deliver the conservatory orders in Nairobi.
Upon receiving the high court orders, Magistrate Thomas Nzioki released Jane Waigwe Kimani and Solomon Mutura Kimani, stating that the court was bound by the orders preventing their prosecution.
