Comedian and YouTube sensation Dr. Ofweneke is putting controversial pastor Victor Kanyari on blast, urging him to apologize to Kenyans for his audacious mockery of God from the pulpit.
During a candid segment on TV47, Ofweneke didn’t hold back, criticizing the pastor of the Salvation Healing Ministry for turning sacred preaching into a punchline.
Ofweneke drew a parallel between Kanyari’s antics and pastor Kiengei’s recent embarrassing slip-up, where he needed to apologize to content developer Pritty Vishy for belittling her.
The comedian insists that Kanyari also bears the responsibility to say sorry to the nation and the Christian community for his inappropriate jokes that trivialize the divine.
“Anyone who takes God as a joke, I don’t have many words to say about him,” Ofweneke declared.
He emphasized that, just as Kiengei owed an apology, Kanyari’s antics warrant a public retraction too.
The comedian didn’t shy away from addressing Kanyari’s penchant for prioritizing online trends over reverence for spiritual matters.
“Truth be told, he [Kanyari] has been doing anything, and it’s imperative that we tell him the truth,” Ofweneke stated.
He repeated his call for Kanyari to steer clear of humor that offends God and focus on building a genuine connection with his audience without reaching for incendiary material.
This latest drama isn’t Kanyari’s first rodeo with controversy. Not too long ago, he faced significant backlash after inviting TikTok influencers to one of his church services.
The pastor stirred the pot further when a female influencer sent him a gift of condoms, igniting an uproar not only from the public but also from fellow clerics.
Pastor T Mwangi was among the more vocal critics, labeling Kanyari a “content creator” rather than a spiritual leader.
Ofweneke’s remarks spark a much-needed discussion about the blend of social media antics and spiritual authenticity, underscoring the necessity for religious figures to uphold their message’s integrity while engaging with the modern audience.
