DJ Joe Mfalme was arrested following the death of DCI officer Felix Kelian Kitosi. The names of the three police officers also linked to the case have also been revealed.
In the aftermath of the tragic death of a senior detective from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), three police officers have been identified and arrested for their alleged involvement in the assault that led to the detective’s demise.
The three officers named as Sammy Rotich Cherono, Khadija Abdi Wako, and Agnes Kerubo Mugo are accused of assaulting Felix Kelian Kitosi on March 16, 2024. Currently held at Riruta Police Station, these officers from Kikuyu Police Station face suspicion of murder pending further developments in the ongoing investigation.
The unfortunate incident began with a dispute between Kitosi and Joseph Mwenda, popularly known as DJ Joe Mfalme, after Kitosi reportedly collided with Mfalme’s vehicle at Kikuyu Police Station in Kiambu County. This disagreement escalated into a physical altercation involving Mfalme’s team and ultimately led to Kitosi’s arrest by the three police officers.
Despite being present at the police station during Kitosi’s arrest, DJ Joe Mfalme and his crew were later permitted to leave without providing a statement. Reports indicate that the altercation did not occur at Club Texas Barbeque in Kikuyu Town, where DJ Joe Mfalme was performing that night, according to the club’s management.
All individuals involved, including DJ Joe Mfalme and the arrested officers, are scheduled to appear in court on Monday, March 25, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Felix Kelian Kitosi’s tragic passing.
As the case unfolds, authorities are working diligently to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation, seeking justice for the late detective and clarity for all parties involved.
