Lulu Hassan was not aware of her resemblance with Lucy Maina, until she hosted her on Citizen TV
Maina is one of the actresses under Jiffy Pictures, a film production company that Lulu co-owns with her husband Rashid Abdalla.
Maina plays the lead actress in Becky TV series that currently airs on Citizen TV during weekdays.
Speaking to digital creators, Lulu said that she realized that she resembles Maina after doing a TikTok video with her during the TV show,
“Apparently sikujua kama tunafanana. Nilijua ile siku niliwaalika studio then we did a TikTok dance. Nikaona mbona ni kama tunafanana and then the comments as well. Maybe we do(relate), sijui,” she said during an interview at the Kalasha Awards.
At the same time, she spoke about the actress that Jiffy pictures is proud of.
“Yasmin. Maria because alitoka form nowhere. Si mtu hata alikuwa anafikiria atakuja kuact. Haikuwa kwa akili yake so moaka leo tunasema atleast tulikuza mtu,” Lulu said.
She further explained why Jiffy pictures maintains actors saying, “Performance yao iko mzuri, disciplinewise wako poa. Ni watu ambao tungependa kuwalk the journey with them.”
She also revealed that Jiffy pictures will be launching a Swahili Hindi series on Monday.
“Watu watune into Maisha Magic Bongo 7.30. Ni kipindi cha kihindi. For the first time in Africa, tutakuwa na wahindi wakizungumza Kiswahili. Watu wengi wanawatch sana Zee World kwasababu ni wahindi but imekuwa dubbed in Swahili but this round tumejipatia challenge tumepata Wahindi ambao wanazungumza Kiswahili,” she said.
