Akothee Speaks On Having Baby No.6 With Nelly Oaks As She Reflects On Motherhood

Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, recently took to social media to share candid insights into her experiences raising her five children, highlighting the unique challenges posed by generational differences.

In a heartfelt and humorous post on her social media accounts, the 43-year-old artist described the spirited interactions she has with her daughters, who belong to the Gen Z generation.

Akothee expressed that her daughters frequently argue with her and are unafraid to criticize her actions.

“My Gen Z, they always think I’m wrong. They think I’m calm as hell 🤣🤣🤣 arguing with me like I’m their partner, stopping me when I’m toxic,” Akothee wrote, accompanying a photo of her three daughters.

She continued, “They have the courage to tell me, ‘Mother, you are completely wrong, in this dispute you have hurt me and therefore you should apologize more than justifying.’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣 After apologizing, they start another quarrel about, ‘I need space for myself. Mental health.'”

In another post, Akothee shared a photo of her 15-year-old son, Alfons Ojwang Markus Meyer, and discussed his distinctive approach to life.

She highlighted his assertiveness in making decisions, especially regarding his appearance and his strong preference for where he wants to be.

“GEN Alpha’s hair, you have no say in that hair, even if it carries lice. ‘Mtaskia is my right, it’s my body, I can do whatever I want mom,’” Akothee recounted. “Another type that will tell you clearly, ‘I don’t need to spend my time in Africa because my future life is not in Africa. I know you miss me a lot mom, just know I love you. See you in December. Right now it’s summer in Europe, I’m going to stay with my father for a while and then I’ll go see my father in Switzerland in August.'”

Akothee shared that her son has made it clear he will visit her in December and that there is little she can do to change his plans.

“You are planned as a father,” she added, reflecting on the assertiveness of her son’s decisions.

In yet another post, Akothee posted a picture of all five of her children, noting that they span Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

She also hinted at the possibility of having another child with her current partner, Nelly Oaks, playfully pondering what generation this future child would belong to.

“This mix and match is Gen Zs or Alpha? And what will Nelly’s Gen be? I will see the words for myself,” she mused.

Akothee’s open and relatable posts have sparked a conversation about the evolving dynamics of parenting in the digital age, resonating with many parents facing similar challenges.
