Outpouring of Grief For Jahmby Koikai’s Death Turns To Anger As Kenyans React To Kriss Darlin’s Irritating Remarks

In the wake of reggae entertainer Jahmby Koikai’s passing, the entertainment industry finds itself embroiled in controversy as fellow artist Kriss Darlin’s remarks ignite a firestorm of criticism.

Darlin, taking to Instagram to express condolences, caused uproar with his comment: “Its now TIME to POST PICS with the DEPARTED but when she asked and needed BLOOD DONATIONS & HELP NOBODY POSTED PICS.”

His words struck a nerve, with colleagues and fans alike expressing discontent at what they perceived as insensitivity and misplaced criticism.

Fellow DJ Xclusive minced no words, expressing his disappointment, stating, “Sasa mnagate keep how people will mourn? Ahh surely 😒😒😒 people support in different ways sio kila mtu lazima atoe damu … there are people who would pray for her, maybe send her an encouraging message … I’m sure this sounded smart when typing but it’s not.”

Publicist Anyiko Awoko echoed similar sentiments, urging for a focus on celebrating Jahmby’s memory positively, rather than dwelling on perceived grievances.

“Jahmby doesn’t deserve this weird comment. A lot of people and friends posted about the blood request and have in other instances. There are people who also help or have helped don’t post. Let’s just celebrate her and be positive. That’s what she would appreciate,” Awoko emphasized.

DJ Moh Spice added weight to the discourse, branding Kriss Darlin’s post “irresponsible” and urging for a recognition of the diverse ways in which support is manifested.

“Such an irresponsible post….People help others in different ways, Just because it’s not posted online doesn’t mean that it’s not happening…!!!Tenda Wema Nenda Zako.!! Smh! #Disappointed,” DJ Moh Spice remarked.

As the industry mourns the loss of Jahmby Koikai, Kriss Darlin’s comments serve as a poignant reminder of the complexities surrounding grief and remembrance, igniting a much-needed conversation about how we honor the departed.

Jahmby Koikai, affectionately known as Fyah Mummah, breathed her last on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Nairobi Hospital after a valiant 25-year struggle with endometriosis.
