Zari Comes Clean On Why She Ditched Her Music Career

Zari Hassan

Zari Hassan has opened up about her decision to step away from music, a career she initially pursued as a stepping stone into the entertainment industry.

In a recent interview, the 44-year-old businesswoman revealed that while music was never her true passion, she saw it as a gateway to acting opportunities.

However, the transition did not happen as quickly as she had hoped, forcing her to reevaluate her priorities.

Reflecting on her early years in the entertainment industry, Zari described the struggle of juggling multiple responsibilities, including music, business administration, parenting, and marriage.

“I was managing the head office, overseeing the satellite campuses, raising my boys, and being someone’s ‘husband.’ At the same time, I had started a singing career, and I had to choose,” she shared in the interview.

After releasing several songs, which remain available on her YouTube channel, Zari decided to put an end to her music career and instead focus on managing the wealth and enterprises her husband had established.

“I had to drop the singing and focus on the businesses and the children because it needed me to travel a lot,” she explained.

Despite stepping away from music, the Ugandan-born entrepreneur based in South Africa has built a formidable reputation as a business leader, socialite, and reality television star.

Her influence spans across Africa, with her enterprises and personal life frequently making headlines.

Most recently, she gained renewed attention for her second appearance in Netflix’s hit reality series Young, Famous & African (Season 2).

In the show, she candidly discussed moments in her personal life, particularly her widely publicized relationship and co-parenting journey with Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz.
