Willis Raburu Loses 30 Kilos So Far After Parting With Nearly Ksh1 Million To Undergo Weight Loss Surgery

Citizen TV presenter Willis Raburu parted with nearly Ksh1 million to undergo surgery to lose weight.

Raburu underwent gastric bypass surgery which usually costs between Ksh600,000 and Ksh900,000.

Gastric bypass is a type of weight-loss surgery that involves creating a small pouch from the stomach and connecting the newly created pouch directly to the small intestine.

Gastric bypass surgery shrinks the size of your stomach, so you can’t eat as much as you used to. The surgeon will also re-route, or bypass, part of your digestive system so you don’t absorb as much food. [sic]

Raburu recently announced on social media that he had lost 30 kilos ever since he underwent the surgery.

The Citizen TV presenter expressed optimism that he would lose even more weight.

“The greatest investment you can ever make is on you! When I decided to do the Bariatric surgery I was so scared, but I did it. Will share story here soon. 30kgs down so far. The journey continues,” Raburu wrote.

Raburu while speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve revealed that he was forced to undergo Gastric bypass surgery to lose weight for the sake of his health.

The 35-year-old Citizen TV presenter said he opted for the surgery since going to the gym did not work out for him.

“I went for gastric bypass surgery. I respect watu wanaenda gym. Gym ni kazi, nilikua na good trainers but nilikua na loss weight but inarudi,” he said.

Adding that;

“By the time I was going for the surgery I was not doing well. I was 164kgs I needed the surgery because my blood pressure and cholesterol were high.”
