Wakimani Waiting For Court Verdict After Family Accused Him Of Causing Ayeiya’s Death

Comedian Paul Ogutu popularly known Wakimani is still awaiting the court’s verdict years on in a case where he is accused of causing the death of fellow comedian Emmanuel Makori, popularly known as Ayeiya.

Ayeiya tragically lost his life in a road accident along Magadi Road, Nairobi, in 2017, and Wakimani found himself entangled in a legal battle with Ayeiya’s family soon after the burial.

In a recent statement, Wakimani disclosed that the case proceedings had gone smoothly, attending all court sessions, and he now feels comfortable discussing the matter without prejudicing the outcome.

He was driving the car that fateful night as they returned from a Churchill Show recording at the Carnivore Simba Saloon.

The Toyota Premio they were in veered off the road, crashing into a concrete post, claiming Ayeiya’s life while Wakimani and the other two occupants sustained minor injuries.

Following the tragic incident, Wakimani withdrew from the showbiz scene and battled depression, turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism.

After a four-year hiatus, Wakimani is gearing up for a comeback with a one-man stand-up special scheduled for next month at the Nairobi Museum, titled “This is Wakimani, Broken Crayons Still Colour.”

The comedian emphasized that his extended break was a strategic move to rejuvenate and plan his return to the comedy stage.

With the looming court verdict and the upcoming stand-up special, Wakimani is still working hard to return to the top of his game.
