Edday and her kids left for US for a vacation only to get there and seek asylum leaving Samidoh.
Edday Nderitu and her three children left the US in May 2023 and were even escorted to the airport by Samidoh.
The mother of three lied to her husband that the trip was sponsored so she had to go to the US for a vacation with kids.
She took to her social media accounts to thank the Mimshack homes team for sponsoring the trip and also for seeing off his family at JKIA as they were jetting off to US.
“Thank you The Mimshack Homesteam led by your Director Damaris Ngina Precious for seeing my family and I off to USA. The Mimshack Homes has an amazing project in Diani coming up.Make sure you don’t miss out,” she wrote.
However, on getting to the US, Edday sought asylum which allowed her to stay in America indefinitely.
To seek asylum, one must already be in the U.S. and believed to be in danger of persecution if they return to their country.
A source said Edday applied for asylum claiming she was fearing for her life and those of her children because her husband Samidoh, who is a police officer, had eloped with a well-connected senator, Karen Nyamu, who threatened her.
In a Facebook post on July 22, 2023, Edday Nderitu clarified that she was not in a polygamous marriage and that she had left Samidoh to Karen Nyamu because she needed him more.
“Lemmie clarify few things that were shared online and not accurate……
-I am not in any polygamous marriage as stated I left the husband for whoever needed him more. I made a decision to remove myself and my kids from that toxic environment especially my teen daughter who unfortunately is direct recipient of unbelievable behavior displayed …I have managed to sustain my kids needs so far with no help and I am not regretting any bit of it. About communication and video calls I will leave that one there since some people seems to be present when that is happening but I’m not aware. In this new season of my life I don’t need any drama, I need peace only ,I hope next episode of this series my name will be left out. #nothingbutprayers #powerofprayers,” Edday wrote.
In a Facebook post on November 1, 2023, seen by Kenyareports.com, Samidoh sent a cryptic message to his estranged wife expressing his pain.
Samidoh lamented that he was wrapped in grief as deep as the ocean, and that no one could do anything to help him.
“The sound of a man crying is a piteous noise, almost worse than an infant’s cry. Babies are either hungry, sick or bored, or need changing. A man is none of those things. He was wrapped in grief as deep as the ocean, and no one could do anything yo help him,” Samidoh wrote.
