Tanzania’s Ministry Of Gender Wades In On Diamond/Hamisa Mobetto’s Child Paternity Row

Diamond’s continued neglect of Hamisa Mobetto’s son has attracted attention of gov’t officials.

After netizens asked Diamond to be responsible and take a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of Hamisa Mobetto’s son Dylan, now the Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dorothy Gwajima, has waded in on the conversation.

The Gender Minister’s attention was drawn to Diamond/Hamisa Mobetto’s child paternity row by netizens who asked her to intervene.

“Hivi wewe waziri si ndio mwenye dhamana ya kulinda watoto nchi hii, kinachoendelea mitandaoni kuhusu Dylan kunyanyasika mitandaoni huoni? Mbona unashindwa kuutatua huu mzozo? Kama DNA ifanyike ili mtoto aache kunyanyasika mitandaoni, mbona kama huoni mtoto ananyanyasika kisaikolojia,” a netizen told the Minister.

The Minister said the dispute between Diamond and Hamisa Mobetto could be addressed by social welfare services, local councils or any police station near them.

She further said that her Ministry has a gender desk and a toll free number for emergencies regarding children and community issues.
