Photos of a young university student whose boyfriend, a prison warden, wanted to kill has emerged online. The said lady is said to have conned the officer a whooping Ksh.900,000.
Sandra Njoki, a student at Mt Kenya University, Thika main campus, was allegedly being hunted by the security officer, Edwin Omuse, to kill her. On Wednesday, the officer reportedly disappeared from his workstation – Kangeta GK Prison -armed with a G3 rifle.
The officer is said to have hidden the fair arm together with 20 rounds of ammunition in a sack before storming out of the prison premises.
Officer Omuse was to travel from Meru to Thika to kill Njoki, whom he claimed defrauded him Sh900,000 he had borrowed from a bank.
Efforts by the DCI to trace him were futile after he disappeared. Witnesses say that the police officer was last seen in Meru in a fast-moving motorbike. The detectives say that the rogue officer made a phone call to the student’s parents requesting a meet. At the time, he had assembled the firearm.
After speaking to the girl’s parents, he reportedly called the lady, inquiring her whereabouts. It is at this point that the police intercepted the call and saved the student’s life.
