Pastor Ng’ang’a Narrates How He Was Kicked Out Of Church For Bringing More People

Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelismn Center has opened up on his journey to becoming a preacher.

Ng’ang’a who got saved while serving his jail term over charges of robbery with violence said that he always wanted to preach the word of God.

“I had a vision of serving God even before jail. My father died and I became notorious. Even in jail, I still had that call. I used to sing a lot there,” Ng’ang’a said in an interview US with Pacific Waves.

Based on his experience in prison, Ng’ang’a said people should help others when they have their freedom.

“If anyone wants to help someone, help them when they have their freedom. Once they get in cells, they come out spoilt because of the tough life in jail. You are hardened,” the pastor noted.

After being released from jail in the 1990s, Ng’ang’a said that he would sing in streets and attracted more people to a church that he used to attend but the pastor feared that he would overtake his church.

“I don’t like when pastor’s keep begging and since I had a kiosk, he would come and borrow me 10 bobs, I wanted to be rich and start a church, not a beggar. I started singing at Railway and bringing people to the church, the pastor said I will overtake his church and they chased me,” Ng’ang’a said.

Speaking about being referred to as a controversial pastor, Ng’ang’a said that people have different callings to the ministry and that the God he knows is different from that of other people.

“We have a fly, an insect but does not sting. I have been in the ministry, I got saved in jail after I fought my peers. The police officers tricked me to admit I had fought, and that is how my journey in jail started,” Ng’ang’a said.
