Embakasi East MP of Parliament Babu Owino caused drama in Parliament on Wednesday, December 22 during a special sitting.

This is after the law maker hid crutches belonging to nominated MP David Ole Sankok.

The house session was forced to be halted for some minutes until Sankok’s crutches could be found after he raised the issue.

“The matter raised by Hon. Sankok is very serious… What is surprising is that Hon Sankok you are seated there all the time. If you have lost your crutches, you should obviously have the person in mind who has taken your crutches in mind,” Deputy speaker Moses Cheboi, who was presiding over the sitting, said.

It was established that Babu was the one who had taken the crutches. The speaker asked him to return them to Sankok and demanded that he apologizes to the house for his actions.

The lawmaker however claimed that  Sankok was not using them then and that’s why he took them.

“Hon Speaker, Hon Sankok does not need the legs (crutches) as at now… I apologize,” Babu told the house.

His actions have however angered netizens who claimed that Babu finds joy in other peoples sufferings.

“Babu Owino stole the crutches of a disabled MP during a parliamentary session.. that’s so disgraceful mahn,” Gesho’s tweet read.

“I think the kinds of drugs Babu Owino uses have affected his mental health. One day that boy will confuse Raila Odinga for DJ Evolve and that is when ODM goons will get what we are saying,” another netizen said.

“Babu Owino has no respect for the disable. The drama he played in Parliament by hiding Hon Sankok’s clutches is repugnant. Where i come from it is a taboo to laugh at the disable. Babu Owino should mature and match his colleagues in Parliament,” Kiprop Dismas said.
