21-year old Anita Soina will be vying for the Kajiado North Parliamentary seat in the general elections slated for August 9, 2022.
She will become the youngest person to ever go for the position in the country.
Soina revealed her plans through social media where she said that she is a young leader who understands challenges facing the people.
“It’s here. People over profits. Everyday it hurts me to see what the people go through. Born to a Maasai dad from Kajiado North, as I trace back to my roots to understand my culture and as a young leader who understands some of the challenges facing the people , I have decided to do this.
According to her, being in a leadership position was the first step of problem solving.
“To me, the first step towards solving a problem is getting to that position of a problem solver. Twende Bunge tupiganie haki za wapiga kura,” Soina said on Instagram.

It however remains unclear whether she will going for the position through independent candidature or she would join a political party.

Soina is one of the youngest environmental activist. She began activism at the age of 18 years when she founded Spice Warriors organization in order to promote environmental conservation.
She recently graduated from Multimedia University with a degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communication.
